How does the roll analysis work?
Upload a video of a roll (MP4 or MOV, up to 400MB). Videos over 5 minutes open a private trim tool where you drag both handles around the exact section you want coached. The original uploads directly to private storage, and the analysis worker trims the selected server-side copy. Your coach watches it live while you watch along: it chapters the match position by position, calls key moments as they happen, and double-checks the close calls before the final read. You tap yourself in the frame so the coaching is about your game, or ask for a neutral breakdown of both athletes. Every key moment then has a "Fix this" button that hands it to the professor.
How do I film a roll?
Prop your phone against a wall or water bottle, landscape, far enough back that both athletes stay in frame. Any ordinary angle works. The demo breakdowns on this page came from regular competition footage. If the video is longer than 5 minutes, choose the exact section you want analyzed. Nothing is compressed or rewritten in your browser.
Does it work on competition footage?
Yes. A roll is a roll. The demo breakdowns on this page are competition matches analyzed by the same pipeline. Pick the athlete you want coached and the read is built through their eyes.
Do I need an account?
No. You get an anonymous identity in your browser and can start immediately. Signing in with Google is optional; it keeps your corner with you across devices.
Is my video private?
Yes. Uploaded rolls are visible only to you. The only public breakdowns on the site are the demo analyses of famous matches.
Where do the recommendations come from?
From a knowledge graph mapped out of more than 2,000 instructional videos by named coaches. A connection is only published when at least two independent channels teach it, and every recommendation cites a timestamped clip, so you can check the source yourself.
Who is it for?
Anyone who trains Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, gi or no-gi. The sweet spot is hobbyists from white to brown belt who train a few times a week and want that mat time to compound.
